Every year in the United States, an estimated 10 million animals suffer from abuse or cruelty. These heartbreaking cases include intentional cruelty, neglect, and other forms of mistreatment. It’s important to note that this number represents only reported cases, and many incidents go unreported. Animals affected by abuse come from various backgrounds, including pets, livestock, and wildlife. Let’s work together to raise awareness and prevent such cruelty.

This law is an anti-cruelty law that strengthened protection for animals and increased penalties for animal abuse in South Carolina including the ability for aggravated animal cruelty to be charged as a felony. All fifty states and the federal government have laws that allow for animal cruelty to be prosecuted as a felony. Felonies are considered the most serious class of crimes in the United States.
More than 50% of the fur in the US comes from China, where millions of dogs and cats are often bled to death and skinned alive for their fur. Chinese fur is often mislabeled, so if you wear any fur, there’s no sure way of knowing whose skin you’re in.
